Mood Lighting Options

After a long, stressful day at the office, the last thing you want to do is head back home to a room where the lights are glaring and there’s no way to turn them down. After all is said and done, you want to be able to relax, have a glass of wine and chill out with a couple of candles and some chilled-out mood lighting. The options you have are vast, though, with there being some fairly cheap alternatives to having to put dimmers on your lampshades in your home. Check out some easy, inexpensive alternatives below.

Lamp

They’re a classic alternative, as they’re the most obvious. You can get a lamp from basically any homeware store, with the easiest and cheapest being IKEA. where they sell pretty much any home appliance for half the price of any high-street supplier. If you get a couple of lamps for your living room, you can even create mood-lighting within mood-lighting. You don’t need to spend the Earth, but make sure you’ve got spare lightbulbs in the home, because the last thing you want is your mood-lighting to vanish. Bulbs are also pretty cheap so don’t worry about that.

LED Light Bars

These are a fairly unusual shout for a good mood light, but they require little extra work (just stick them up and go!) and you’re sorted. You could put up a few around the room and it would work just as well as any nightlight. These would be ideal for in a children’s room where you can even include them in placement of the lights. This is a little bit out of left-field, but bare with us! This product comes in different shapes and sizes, and emits a soothing, tame light from its bulb, helping you become less stressed by calming your senses which can help with your health. These light boxes also play soothing sounds, sounds that are designed to de-stress you and help you wind down after a tough day at work or with family. You can find these online or in gadget shops on the high-street. If you search through Amazon, you’re likely to be able to find a great deal on this product.

Color Changing Mood Lighting

This isn’t too dissimilar to the lighting that we wrote about above, with the exception that this changes color to stimulate your senses and help you wind down. These are more common than the light and sound emitters above, and just as cheap.
